i wrote u a letter
I sealed it with a kiss

something is amiss...
i fly to the moon and back
just to see your face
you must be on the dark side
I cannot find a trace
i fly to

i fly to the moon and back just to see your face
you must live on the dark side i cannot find a trace
i fly too i fly to i fly two
then i hear you go to bali
i sent a letter post restante

illustrated by a photograph of you
in a red sarong
’dear sir, to whom it may concern, your information’s wrong is wrong’s
she no longer works at this restaurant
i get the feeling you are avoiding me
i get the feeling you are avoiding me
avoiding me

you must live on the dark side i cannot find a trace

the veronica lake story
03:19
|
|||
well there once was a girl called ronnie
who was born & raised on a small country farm
in the wheatbelt of south australia
just outside a small town full of charm
ronnie was born in 54, she was namd after the actress veronica lake,
she helped milk the cows & churn the butter, she helped bake the cake, bake the cake.
Ronnie was an only child there were no other kids nearby, they were raising hogs, so she spent a lot of time roaming stony hills with the cattle dogs
and sitting on the porch flicking thru big city store catalogs
and on weekdays she waited for the school bus and every morning at eight am
she'd get on the bus that took the farm kids
to the primary school in the town seven miles away
for seven years.
now veronica lake was famous for a lock of her long blonde hair that fell seductively across her face and lent her a mysterious and that seductive style was favoured by her mother and she dyed her own hair in that style but the results were far from glamorous ...the ladies at the methodist church all they did was look and look and ronnie's father said he was humiliated and she couldn't act that way. (to be continued)

knocking at door
someone knocking at my door
someone knocking at my door
what they want me for
what they want me for
somebody come to my door
somebody come to my door
i don’t want anymore
i don’t want anymore
who that there at my door
who that there at my door
i don’t want it oh no
i don’t want it any more
go away from my door
go away from my door
your not welcome no more
your not welcome no more
i can’t have it anymore
i can’t love you not no more
i don’t know what it’s all for
i don’t know what love’s all for
someone’s knocking at my door
take it away from my door
i can’t love you no more
your not welcome no more
don’t come knocking at my door
don’t come knocking at my door
turn around go home home
turn around go home home
what in the world you here for
what in the world you here for???

isn't it a pity
02:58
|
|||
isn’t it a pity
somethings missing but you dunno what it is
you don’t get it anymore
wheres the love in this city?
with the wind blowing cold
and your feet getting wet so
now it don’t look so pretty
anymore,
all that glitters in the jars and the very fast cars
thats all gone
isn’t that a pity
and you cant see the station
from the train your on
and the station master’s gone,
gone away
and you can’t find the change
for a one way ticket out of here
isn’t it a pity
you’ve tried but you
just cant make the pieces of the puzzle fit
wheres the life of the party?
you were the first in line
now you’re putting it all behind you
you left the party early,
there’s not sugar in your spoon
you’ve popped your last ballon yeah
wheres the love in this city
every show must close
even the lucky start to lose and
you can’t find the station
to take the last train back out of here
when you take another shot
and the picture that you get just aint pretty
isn’t that a pity that
you put all this away
and theres nothing left to say
it’s all gone, isn’t it a pity
you can’t take the road back home

don't come cryin' to me
03:11
|
|
||
if you best friend don’t come around
if your sweetheart just town
you’ve been washed up on the beach half drowned
don’t come crying to me
i told you how it would be
don’t come cryin' to me
because I told you so
if things don’t make sense philosophically
and you take defeat in the face of victory
and the magic of life is just trickery
supermarket don’t carry what you need
nobody sticks to what has been agreed
and you cut yourself off but all you do is bleed
well, don't come cryin' to me.
I told you how it would be
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
because I told you so
there’s music all around but you don’t hear a sound
you’re like an abandoned dog in a dog pound
your looking for something that cant be found
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
because I told you so
you realise you made a mistake
and now you want me back
you realise you made a mistake
and now you want me back
you realise you made a mistake
now you want me back
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
because I told you how it would be
you’re like an abandoned dog left in a dog pound
your looking for something that can’t be found
well don’t come
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
don’t come crying to me
because I told you how it would be
don’t come

There was a revolution in the streets below
We saw it on TV.
She said. 'isn't anybody out there, anymore?' Then,
'what's this whole world coming to?'
'Or, do you think, it's something we can never know?
Should we just sit back and watch the river flow? Never
question the meaning of eixistence.
Because it's something we can never know?'
Or do you think
It's something we can never know.
Qualities of life don't get analysed on TV
and the best things are impossible to find.
